Sunday Set-List: October 24, 2010

Our last Sunday at the Lake Lynn Community Center. I can’t even express how excited I am to be moving to a new permanent location next week.

We started the service with the following two songs:

  • Happy Day – Tim Hughes
  • Jesus Paid It All – Arr. Kristian Stanfill

Then we had our announcements and a brief greeting time. The next mini worship set was:

  • All Creatures – Arr. David Crowder Band
  • Lord You Have My Heart – Martin Smith/Delirious

Bill’s message was the 3rd part in our “90:17” series over Psalm 90:17. The message was titled “Establish the Work”. Bill talked about Moses (who wrote Psalm 90:17), and the period of time it took for God to do His work in Moses, which allowed God to do His work through moses. When Moses was a young man, he had power in the house of Pharaoh. He also tried to accomplish God’s will through his own means, and ended up killing an Egyptian. Over the next 40 years, God worked in Moses’ life and prepared him for the work he was going to do through him – freeing the Israelite slaves. What work is God trying to accomplish through you? Are you allowing God to work in you so that he can work through you?

We followed the message with a short verse from Happy Day and dismissed.

This was the 2nd time we have used this format of singing two songs, announcements, two more songs, and then a message. It worked fairly well – better than how we had done it before. I do wish we had a longer worship time before the message, though – just by one more song. Here’s a funny point – I was talking about the Psalm, and I said mentioned Abraham’s name rather than Moses’s. Oops – minor little confusion of the Patriarchs, there.

Here are some photos from the service:
